huddlz Code of Conduct
Version 2026-07-25
Effective date: July 25, 2026
huddlz exists to help people build real-life communities. Participation requires care for the safety, dignity, privacy, and belonging of other people.
This Code of Conduct ("Code") is part of the huddlz Terms of Service.
1. Scope
This Code applies to:
- profiles, messages, images, groups, huddlz, RSVPs, and other activity on huddlz;
- in-person and online huddlz created or promoted through huddlz;
- communications directly connected to a huddlz group or huddl; and
- conduct by organizers, moderators, or representatives acting in an official community role.
Conduct outside these spaces may be considered when it creates a credible safety risk within a huddlz community.
2. Expected conduct
Everyone participating through huddlz is expected to:
- treat others with respect, patience, and good faith;
- respect names, pronouns, identities, boundaries, privacy, and consent;
- communicate access needs, risks, costs, rules, and schedule changes clearly;
- follow venue rules, organizer instructions, and applicable law;
- make reasonable efforts to include people with different backgrounds, identities, experiences, and abilities;
- accept constructive feedback and take responsibility for harm;
- protect personal and confidential information; and
- report serious safety concerns rather than escalating them publicly.
Organizers have an additional responsibility to set expectations, respond to concerns, avoid conflicts of interest where practical, and apply rules consistently.
3. Unacceptable conduct
The following behavior is prohibited:
- harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, threats, or violence;
- discrimination or degrading conduct based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, genetic information, veteran status, or another protected or personal characteristic;
- unwanted sexual attention, sexualized conduct, or contact without consent;
- deliberate misgendering or use of a name a person has asked others not to use;
- sharing another person's private information, image, precise location, or communications without authorization;
- recording or photographing people where prohibited or after they object;
- encouraging self-harm, violence, abuse, exploitation, or illegal activity;
- bringing weapons where prohibited by law, a venue, or an organizer;
- attending or organizing while dangerously impaired;
- fraud, impersonation, scams, spam, or deceptive promotion;
- retaliation against someone who raises a concern, makes a report, participates in an investigation, or supports an affected person;
- knowingly false or malicious reports; and
- helping or encouraging another person to engage in prohibited conduct.
Disagreement, criticism, or enforcement undertaken respectfully and in good faith is not harassment merely because it is unwelcome.
4. Consent and personal boundaries
Consent must be informed, voluntary, specific, and reversible. Silence, prior consent, an RSVP, group membership, or attendance at a huddl does not imply consent to physical contact, sexual activity, photography, recording, disclosure of personal information, or a different activity.
Stop when someone withdraws consent or sets a boundary.
5. Immediate safety
If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or venue security first. huddlz and volunteer organizers are not emergency services and may not see a report immediately.
Move to a safe place when possible. Do not confront a person if doing so may increase danger. Preserve relevant messages, links, dates, names, and other evidence when it is safe to do so.
6. Reporting
Report conduct concerns to support@huddlz.com. Include, when available:
- what happened and when;
- the relevant group or huddl;
- usernames or names of people involved;
- links, screenshots, or other supporting information;
- whether there is an ongoing safety risk; and
- what outcome or support you are requesting.
You may report something that happened to you or another person. Anonymous or incomplete reports will be reviewed when possible, but limited information may restrict what action we can take.
For concerns involving a group organizer, report directly to huddlz rather than only to that organizer.
7. How reports are handled
We will make a reasonable effort to:
- acknowledge reports and assess urgent safety concerns;
- limit disclosure to people who need the information to respond;
- consider available evidence and context fairly;
- avoid conflicts of interest where practical;
- protect reporters, affected people, and witnesses from retaliation; and
- communicate an outcome when privacy, safety, and law permit.
Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. We may share information when reasonably necessary to investigate, protect someone, comply with law, obtain professional advice, or cooperate with organizers, venues, service providers, or authorities.
8. Enforcement
Depending on severity, context, history, safety risk, and willingness to repair harm, responses may include:
- guidance or a private warning;
- required correction, apology, education, or removal of content;
- limits on communication, organizing, attendance, or account features;
- removal from a group or huddl;
- temporary suspension;
- permanent account termination; or
- referral to a venue, service provider, or appropriate authority.
Serious conduct may result in immediate restriction or termination without a warning. A pattern of lower-level conduct may be treated as a serious violation.
Group organizers may take reasonable immediate action for safety at their huddlz. huddlz may separately review the conduct under this Code.
9. Appeals
If huddlz restricts or terminates your account under this Code, you may request review by emailing support@huddlz.com. Explain why you believe the decision should change and provide any new information.
An appeal does not automatically pause a safety restriction. We may decline repeated appeals that provide no new information.
10. No retaliation
Retaliation is a separate violation of this Code. Contacting, threatening, punishing, excluding, exposing, or encouraging others to target someone because of a good-faith report or investigation may result in immediate action.
11. Changes
We may update this Code as the community and Service change. The current version and effective date will be posted with the Code. Material changes may require renewed acceptance.
